French Exams, registered at 8 Rue des Jardins, 67580 Mertzwiller, France (SIREN/SIRET: 91380506500020), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate and improve the Service, such as your name, email address, and basic profile details you provide at sign-up, along with your study progress and usage of exercises within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide the Service, track your learning progress, manage your subscription, and communicate with you about your account. We do not use your information for purposes beyond developing and operating the app.

3. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your information, and we do not let third parties access or use your information for their own purposes. The only companies that store or process user information on our behalf are:

  • Payment processing companies, to securely handle subscription payments.
  • Hosting and infrastructure companies, such as Cloudflare, which help serve the app and manage internet traffic and server load as part of our business operations.
  • Google Analytics (Google LLC), to understand how visitors use the site — only if you accept analytics cookies. See "Cookies" below.

These providers are only permitted to process data as needed to perform these services for us.

4. Cookies

We use a first-party cookie (ga_consent) to remember whether you've accepted or declined analytics cookies. This cookie is required for the site to function and does not itself track you.

If you accept, we load Google Analytics (GA4), which sets its own cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) to measure site usage. These are not set until you accept, and we do not use cookies for advertising or personalization. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer; choices are remembered for up to one year.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

When you delete your account, we erase your personal data, with one exception: to prevent repeated abuse of our free trial offer, we retain a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address, solely to recognize if that same email is used to claim another trial. This hash is kept for up to 24 months from your last trial, after which it is automatically purged. This is based on our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse of promotional offers.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.

9. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at [email protected].
