If you are preparing for the TCF, TEF or another French exam, learning vocabulary and grammar is essential. But there is one little trick that can make your French sound much more natural: idioms!
Idiomatic expressions are everywhere in French. They can make your speaking and writing sound more fluent, confident and… French!
For everyday conversations, learn simple and natural expressions you can actually use.
→ to feel great / be full of energy
« Aujourd’hui, j’ai la pêche ! »
→ to be exhausted
« Après cette semaine de travail, je suis complètement crevé. »
→ to feel a little down
« J’ai un petit coup de blues aujourd’hui. »
→ to cost an arm and a leg
« Ce téléphone coûte les yeux de la tête ! »
→ it drives me crazy / it’s getting on my nerves

For Task 2, choose expressions that help you tell stories, explain situations or express your opinions.
